About Fudge My Life
Hi, I’m Cheryl.
Tray Bake Cutters began because I couldn’t find a tool that did the job properly.
In 2021, I was building my baking business, Fudge My Life, from scratch, selling fudge door to door and introducing myself to shops one by one. I trained professionally and built my career in kitchens, but building something of my own felt different. It was personal.
As orders grew, I needed every piece of fudge to be perfectly equal, not “close enough.” I couldn’t find a cutter that delivered the precision I wanted.
So we built one.

Cheryl Smart
Founder & Director
What started as a necessity in my own kitchen quickly became something bigger. I realised other bakers – especially those growing from home kitchens into real businesses – needed the same thing. Equal portions aren’t just about neatness. They’re about professionalism.
By the end of 2024, with support from my gran and a few bold decisions, Tray Bake Cutters became its own brand.
The tools are built from real experience – flour on the counter, packaging on the table, and a refusal to accept
“that’ll do.”
Craig Hamilton
Production, Operations & The Calm
Craig has been the steady force behind Tray Bake Cutters from day one.
In the beginning, there was no supplier or production line, just Craig. Every cutter was made by hand, carefully measured, adjusted, and remade if it wasn’t perfectly straight. We tried bringing in help, but no one could match his precision.
As demand grew faster than expected, there were nights he worked into the early hours to clear backlogs and keep orders moving.
Today, we work with a supplier so we’re no longer limited by time alone, but the standard we hold now was built during those early workshop nights.
Craig oversees production, checks measurements, handles urgent orders, and manages customer service, especially the difficult conversations. Where I bring vision and momentum, Craig brings structure, logic, and calm.
